Somatic Yoga
Wednesdays at 8:15 AM · 60 minutes
Earth Yoga Studio · Hillsborough, North Carolina
A practice of listening inward
This gentle, exploratory yoga practice invites us to slow down, listen inward, and reconnect with the wisdom of the body.
Blending mindful yoga, somatic movement practices inspired by Body-Mind Centering® and Polarity Therapy, nervous system awareness, breath, and subtle energy practices, each class offers space to experience movement and stillness from the inside out.
Through curiosity and awareness, we’ll explore sensation, breath, patterns of holding, and the ways the body naturally organizes toward greater ease and balance. Together, we’ll cultivate the conditions that support greater regulation, connection, and freedom in body and mind.
What to expect
Classes may include gentle movement, traditional yoga postures (asana), breathwork, grounding and centering practices, body-based meditation, and restorative rest.
Rather than focusing on achieving a particular shape or outcome, we’ll practice slowing down and noticing what is happening within. Each practice is offered as an invitation, allowing you to listen to and follow the intelligence of your own body.
A welcoming, choice-centered practice
This class is for anyone interested in a slower, more embodied approach to yoga, movement, and meditation. The gentle, choice-centered approach may also be supportive for those navigating stress or the effects of trauma, including complex trauma or PTSD.
You are welcome to participate at your own pace, make adjustments as needed, and discover what feels supportive for you. There is no expectation to move in a particular way or to do more than feels right for your body.
No previous yoga experience is necessary. Come as you are, with curiosity and a willingness to listen inward.
